Soft and juicy peaches are their best during late summer. A thick layer of home made jam slathered on toast is bliss... This is a simple recipe which brings out the flavor of fresh peaches.


peaches- 1kg
sugar- 100g
salt- pinch
lemon juice- 1tsp
vanilla bean- 1 each


1. Wash and remove the ripe peaches away from the pith and cut them into chunks.
2. Blend them into a puree.
3. Place the peach puree,sugar and lemon juice in a pan and heat over slow heat.
4. Keep stirring while the puree thickens, add a pinch of salt cook for 10 minutes.
5. Slit vanilla bean and add it to the simmering peach puree and cook for 30-35 minutes, till the puree coats the wooden spoon.
6. Cool and pack in air tight jars.

Serving Ideas

Serve on your favorite bread or use as a filling or glaze in your baked goods.
