ginger bread spice

mace- 3-4 blades
coriander seeds- 1/2 tsp
cardamom - 1 1/2 tsp
star anise- 3-4 petals
all spice- 15-20 berries
ground ginger- 6 tsp
black pepper corns- 1 1/2 tsp
clove - 1/2 tsp
cinnamon powder- 1/2 tsp
nut meg- a touch

naan khattai cookie

whole wheat flour (atta)- 3/4 cup
all purpose flour (maida)- 1/4 cup
baking powder- 1 tsp
sugar brown- 1/4 cup
ghee melted- 1/2 cup (as required)
ginger bread spice- 4 -5 tsp


1. In a spice mill place all the spices and blend to form a ginger bread mix.
2. In a bowl seive the whole wheat flour (atta) and all purpose flour along with the baking powder.
3. Add the sugar, ginger bread spice and mix well.
4. Pour required quantity of melted ghee amd mix to for a cookie dough.
5. Divide into equal size balls, press gently amidst your palm.
6. Bake at 180- 190 C oven for 15- 20 minutes. Serve warm.
